ABT nca Main Event Tournament Format

This is the standard format used for most 2 day tournaments

 



  • Guaranteed Prizes
    • $1000 1st Place, $500 2nd Place, $250 3rd Place, $150 4th Place
    • Last Cashing Place is $100
  • Entry Fees
    • Gold Member $75.00
    • Standard Member $85.00
    • Guest Entry $95.00
  • Cashing Ratio
    • Main Event is 1 in 5
    • Diablo is 1 in 4
    • Sweeper is 1 in 5
  • Handicap Calculation
    • 70% of 225 maximum 52 pins plus up to 23 bonus pins
  • Entering Averages
    • USBC highest single season composite average in the past 3 years
  • Combined Division Qualifying
    • Classic Division 189 and under qualifies with the Masters Division 190 and over
  • Qualifying Format
    • 3 Games across 6 lanes with handicap
    • Cuts are by block, a block consists of 1 or more squads combined for a cut
    • Re-entries are allowed and limited only to the number of squads available
    • At the conclusion of each block, 1 n 5 will advance to the semi-finals
    • All Semi-finalists are guaranteed to cash
  • Diablo Qualifying Format
    • Diablo is available the last squad of most events
    • Diablo is 2 games only last chance squad
    • Only the highest game with handicap counts towards qualifying
    • At the conclusion of the Diablo squad, 1 n 4 advance to the semi-finals
    • After Diablo, qualifying is finished
  • Semi-finals Format
    • All members in the semi-finals receive a prize check for $100 or higher
    • Semis is 2 games combined division with handicap
    • Zero pins from qualifying are carried over. Everyone is reset to zero
    • The top 4 scores advance to the Eliminator Finals
  • Eliminator Finals Format
    • Again, no pins are carried to this round, every is reset to zero
    • All 4 finalists bowl 1 game on the same pair with the top two scores with handicap advancing to the championship round
    • The 2 non winners will finish in order of their scores finishing 3rd and 4th
    • The two winners from round 1 now bowl a Championship game on the same pair
    • The winner takes home $1000 and the 2nd place wins $500
  • Prize Checks
    • Prize checks are written the same day and made available to the members at the end of each cashing round or as quickly as possible
  • Sweepers
    • This is an optional entry available during qualifying
    • The members best 2 games out of 3 are used during qualifying
    • 1 n 5 entries from each block cash
    • Sweeper checks are available after each block
  • Brackets
    • Standard $5 8 man brackets are available on all 3 game qualifying squad

 


 

  • Eliminator Tournament Format
    • A special format for short schedules or 1 day tournaments
    • 3 games combined division qualifying
    • Multi entry / multi cashing allowed
      • Enter 3 times and if your score permit, you can receive 3 prize checks
      • Can only cash once in the top 4
    • After 3 squads are completed, the top 4 scores advance to the Eliminator Finals
    • The Eliminator Finals is the same format as described above
